MP: Beyonce T

Welcome readers. My name is Beyonce Thomas, and I am a journalism major  with a minor in creative writing and literature. Apart from picking this course because it is compulsory, I was really interested in picking a course that was different from the other courses I have done over the past semesters. Furthermore, I am really excited to start writing nonfiction stories and essays. I aim to learn the importance of digital media and how I can use it to my full advantage during and after my university experience.

The article that I read is Introduction: The Digital Humanities
Moment by Matthew K. Gold.
Summary of the article:

After reading the article, I have concluded that the digital humanities have
done both good and both in academics. The different opinions of lecturer and
arguments from different sides of those who are engaged in digital humanities has allowed for constant debates on different topics. The digital humanities have become quite famous over the years which causes some to  believe that the main objectives of the digital humanities have taken a different route.

Furthermore, the article analyses and discusses the ongoing issues of
digital humanities. In addition, there have been numerous debates about the
main purpose of the digital humanities in universities mostly done by scholars, graduate students and seniors in the field of humanities.

  1. Beyonce, I like the length of this blog post. I like that I got to hear your voice at the end. There were just a few typos and the area where you introduced the reader to the article that you would be reviewing is a little jumbled as you combined it with the “Summary of the article” heading. It would have also been better if you had placed the title of the article in quotations.

Hello Beyonce, very cool of you to add audio, it really gives life to the text and adds a bit of personality.

  3. Great take on combining traditional text with a podcast, especially when speaking about the digital humanities and the changes in scholarship. Some editing can be done on the post to further refine it.

  4. I like that your audio introduction went a bit more in depth than the written introduction. It gave me a chance to hear more about you from a relaxed, non-formal perspective before you went into your summary on the Digital Humanities Article. I think the audio could have been better in that there were multiple moments where the audio sort of ‘fried’ because you were too close to the microphone.

  5. I think your device was a little bit close to your mouth. However, it is nice to hear the voice of the people.
