
After reading many articles across the internet, Choosing Therapy, Healthline and Greatist have all helped me to see other ways in which one may forget their youth besides aging and becoming focused in adulthood…


5 reasons why you may have forgotten your youth:
1. Aging
– The older you get, the more memory fades.
2. Mental Health Issues
– Several mental health issues such as
schizophrenia and depression can cause
impaired memory recollection.
3. Childhood Trauma
– Traumatic childhood experiences such as
abuse (of any kind), domestic violence and
substance abuse are all things that can
lead to memory supression.
4. Cognitive Issues
– Sometimes, amnesia may not be cause my some kind of tragic even
and may just be issues with brain development leading to
forgetfulness.
5. Subconscious Suppression
– Similar to childhood trauma where you may go through something so
so bad that your brain decides to supress it.
