For future reference on my most recent trip, I made the conscious decision to take note of all the notable things to look out for on the way had I ever decided to head back there.

Directions

First things first yuh wah fi choose a meeting spot mine was the Burger King right across from di transport centa. Dis way all yuh hungry belly friend dem can get food fi dem come early enough. Mind yuh I said it for a reason, because if you working wid a schedule it best yuh keep it. Mine did set fi 7 Am SHARP.

Next set a back up meeting spot incase yuh hungry belly friend dem or yuh beat face friend dem late. Yuh know just to give dem a chance to catch up. Since I had booked a trip wid a group di second pick up location was Shopper’s Fair Spanish Town which is right down the road from the Hospital. Yuh caan miss it, is one straight road everything deh pan, if yuh reach Hi-Lo yuh gone too far.

Afta you leave Shopper Fair yuh gonna go on the toll and continue straight til yuh reach Juici Beef Clarendon. Third major stop, be sure to get food for the journey ahead. My recommendation will always be a chicken patty and a Tru Juice orange juice. Right side a di Juici Beef yuh have a pharmacy suh mek sure to grab everything yuh need, cause when we back on the road no more stop til Holland Bamboo.

To keep on track here are a few things to look out for in the same order as yuh see dem written here. The green Porus sign, followed by the Porus gas station. Continue pass and now look to di right, yuh gonna see a likkle turn off mark “Melrose Yam Park’. Don’t let the name fool yuh is not only Yam sell there. Yuh can get roast yam yes, but also soup, boil and roast corn, jerk chicken and jerk pork. Mi know unuh probably stop again, but now it’s back on the road.

Drive through Holsum County, you’ll know you’re there when you see the big sign above the short tunnel. Continue through and you’ll make it to Mandeville. See how much parish that already from the start, Kingston, St. Catherine, Clarendon, Manchester but the journey carries on. Right up until yuh see the sigh ‘Welcome To St. Elizabeth’ you’re almost there now pass Santa Cruz, gwaan pass the sign that say ‘Jamaica Zoo’. Look at dat we reach Holland Bamboo. Stop take some picture, hold up yuh flag, pose in the road make sure yuh look out for on coming cars. Insurance neva included pan di trip.

Back in the car, van or bus, however yuh did come. Gwaan drive yuh wi still see more sign mark ‘Jamaica Zoo’ remember that’s not where you going. Pass two cow, goat, and the horse dem too. Mek sure fi look back pan di right til yuh see the Stud Farm yuh reach.
