The growth of Writing through Globalization

Fiction and non fiction writings have evolved to the modern virtue of marketing one’s work through social media platforms. I do not believe I’m the only person who measures and compares fiction as oppose to non-fiction. The art of writing whether creative or real lives scenario is an intriguing phenomenon of expressing the brain (mind). Before 1969, there was nothing as the internet, more over no smart devices but as globalization occurred so did technology.

Now, we are able to read books online, blog, vlog and even listen to the audio for any piece of writing. Fiction can is seen as creative writing or some may say the fabricating or inventing of a story. While non- fiction has to do with real life events. My observation is that I could share my experiences with a creative play on it which would make the events more exciting.

The concern, the writing arena faces is the grand idea of social media platforms that requires writers to create blogs to market themselves. Grand, but the negatives are

*it requires a longer time to actually get a book or novel completed for publication.

*it is time consuming to manage and maintain

*not all human beings have learnt to maneuvered the technological space.

Rachelle Gardner in her 2009 post mentioned that no editor was concerned with any social media platform but was obsess with finding the “best new talent”.

On the other hand, the positive of getting feedback on a reflective piece from the public might work for many writers.

*quick reading, commenting turnover time.

*the boast to complete the book might come from the over exciting comments.

Final, marketing one’s self is not such a bad idea, as it bring you the global map. The advantage of connecting to with multiple writer as one’s self. Writing has definitely grown and will continue but the medium which it is published might change.
